13.1 Miles, Three Friends, and a Weekend We'll Never Forget 🇺🇸

13.1 Miles, Three Friends, and a Weekend We'll Never Forget 🇺🇸
I can tell you right now. . this is something we'll never forget.
Crossing that finish line after 13.1 miles was an incredible feeling, but if we're being honest, the finish line wasn't the best part.
The best part was everything it took to get there.

For months, the three of us trained from three different places. Jena in Nebraska, Mary Pat in northern Illinois, and myself in central Illinois. Most of our runs happened alone, but somehow we were never really running by ourselves. We checked in after long runs, encouraged each other on the hard days, celebrated the small victories, and reminded each other why we started.
We were counting down the days until we could finally lace up our shoes and run side by side. The weekend before Fourth of July weekend, that finally happened.

What started as a goal became one of the most meaningful weekends we'll always remember. Our families came together, we celebrated our country, spent time with people we love, and then stood at the starting line knowing every mile ahead would be one we'd run together.

There were moments we laughed. Moments we encouraged one another. Moments prayed and lean on Jesus for strength. Through every mile, we reminded each other why we started. That's what true friendship looks like.

As Christians, we're reminded that life was never meant to be lived alone. God gives us people who encourage us, challenge us, pray for us, and sometimes convince us to chase dreams we never thought were possible. Those are the kinds of friendships worth holding onto.

Our challenge to you is simple:
Find friends who love Jesus and love this country.
Find friends who inspire you to become the best version of yourself.
Find friends who don't just tell you to chase your dreams. They lace up their shoes and chase them right alongside you.

This race also reminded me how grateful I am for the little things that help along the way. Like a good pair of shoes, a handheld water bottle and our Seed Life headbands have been with me through countless training miles. They've become a small but meaningful part of this journey.

Next up for me is the New York City Marathon, and this race is about so much more than crossing another finish line. We're raising funds so that every woman around the world can receive the maternal care she deserves. Every mother deserves access to safe, quality care during pregnancy and childbirth, and we're honored to run for a cause that has the power to change lives.

If you feel led to support this mission, every donation brings us one step closer to not only the starting line in New York City, but to helping provide life-saving maternal care for women and babies around the world. Every share, every prayer, and every donation can help us continue this journey with purpose. Click here to donate today! :)

If there's one thing this half marathon taught all 3 of us, it's this:
Dreams are possible when you have faith, people who believe in you, and the courage to take the first step.

Here's to the next mile, the next challenge, and the friendships that make every step worth it.

13.1 miles stronger. Powered by Jesus, friendship, and a whole lot of grace. ❤️🤍💙
